Suggestion for addressing letter:
“Dear Mark and Members of the Planning Board”
Dear Neighbors,
Your action is requested. On April 2, the Mayor and City Council formally asked for advisory opinions from the City and County Planning Boards on what is known as the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).
The next step to changing the zoning of the vacant land adjacent to Birch Run and Morgan Street, known as parcel #1 in the UDO zoning map dated March 2019.
Please make known your opposition and concerns regarding the negative environmental impact associated with the re-zoning, which would include, but not be limited to, traffic congestion, light pollution, water runoff and sewer capacity, and the associated impact on property value. Non-residential construction will change extensively the character of our neighborhood. Please refer to the UDO’s zoning map dated March 2019 and parcel #1.
We believe making our opinions and concerns public can make a difference, but a concerted effort is needed. Your support will help keep the vacant land zoned residential.
If willing, please send a copy of your letter to our neighborhood email at norezoning2019@gmail.com. We can then keep track of support and ensure we get information out to interested parties.
We would encourage you to attend the Planning Board meetings. Once we find out the specifics of any agendas for meeting, we will let everyone know. For more information on the City and County Planning Boards, please check http://www.saratoga-springs.org/192/Planning-Department
